Isabel and Maryellen, One of the Volunteers in the quaint little gift shop inside the Twin Lights in Atlantic Highlands. A great place to bring your children in the spring and summer.

This Cannon in front of the Twin Lights In Atlantic Highlands was found in 1861 when the light house was being constructed. It was buried there, and still some unanswered questions, but what they did find out was that the canon was a twelve-pounder ship cannon of the third quarter, 17 century & of Dutch Danish Manufacture. Markings on the barrel indicate the initials and date of the first twin lights house keeper, J. Lopez. This leads them to believe this may have been a Pirates Cannon.
